You must share your secrets

[. .] How do you make happy music...?

I really enjoyed this, considering the countless dark songs I've listened to, this is a good break from all that.

That twangy lead (distorted?), I like it.
That crash echo is really unique, usually I expect like a single crash, but then it starts echoing. Pretty small but nice effect there.

Well done on the song =w=

JosepWh responds:

Thanks for your review! I think it's a happy song because of the bass line:)
Mostly get's happy when using this.

I also thought the crash was a fun idea! Just a normal crash with a Delay!

Cheers buddy!

Me like teh wobble

That wobble is like taking a zinc sheet and shaking it like a madman. xD
It has a metallic sound to it (reason for zinc reference)
You could add some more hihat breaks and such. getting addictive drums is a nice source of hihats.

.x. Also NO DUBSTEP IS COMPLETE WITHOUT.... dun dun dun SUBBASS!!!
;___; I is currently missing.

ANyway pretty good techno-dubstep =wd

death-is-forever responds:

HAHAHA! Seriously, I laughed so hard at the zinc thing. I could just picture a guy going nuts on a piece of sheet metal. lol

I don't quite get what your say with the hi-hats though.
Thanks for the good review though! :D

Its lacking a bit

From what I heard you've placed most of your focus on your lead.
Thats good, but at the same time you can't neglect the rest of the instruments.
One shots are a good way to beef up any song (just play a single note or sample)
For example taking your clap sample, and using full wet reverb, adds a airy effect.

Your kick lacks punch, its a good idea to throw some compression on it, and cut out the high frequencies, layer a short bass note under it will increase the feel.
For offbeat notes such as the bass you have now, using a low saw wave (around C4) with some attack will give a side chaining effect without the side chaining XD.
Double up your hand clap with a snare, cut both out of the low freq. range, and apply some compression.
Filling note gaps with other sounds is pretty nice technique.

D: Oh my... I went rantign... well I'm sure this was constructive...

There are many other things I could add but whew.... .x. I like your lead, beef up the song some more though =w=d

Well done

Easy listening, not sure where the drum and bass comes in D: So you may want to change that. Sounds like its more of Ambient Hip Hop.

Anyway, I like that lead around 0:30, kinda sounds like a violin o3o (or a droning sitar o.e not sure...)
Transitions are smooth, but I'm sure you could fancy them up a bit more. Playing with the tempo, and gating would be some examples.

All in all this is a very beautiful track.

karlsazn responds:

I should have classified it as dance or something else, idk! its kinda a mix of breakbeat and trance.

i actually made this track about 2 years ago, figured id upload it for a friend to hear. I've become much better at DJ'ing since :)

thanks for your review

Refreshing.

What do I say.... hmmm, lemme start by saying the usual.
Great work!
Also its nice and refreshing from all that hard core dubstep, to have something, calm and easy listening.

Sorry I didn't have much to say.

Press the A button when you here the kick.

Anyway enough joking around, its a bit light for a final boss fight.
But what the heck, this is "One of a Kind", I mean how often do you find DnB in a boss fight

I think something is missing.... Can't figure out what it is though...

At around 1:09 where the organ is, I think a evul (typo intended) synth is in order there (low arp)

Well enough of my talking, me like this. And just for a test, Imma throw this into my game for a test run. xD

I would like to hear more from you.

AvizuraNG responds:

Glad you liked it Icedragon! =D

Ambient DnB

The 1st minute had me puzzled, but then it steadies out.

Its a nice ambient Drum'n'Bass if the drums weren't so in it. (My opinion though)

Nice song anyhow.

Naise!

Audio Advertisement brought me here.

I think the tremolo strings attack is too short while the voices have long attacks.

I'm think of increasing the attack on the strings.
As the summary said, Naise work!

I'll try again...

just to hear this again! XD

Wonderful piece.
I'll lose to the boss enough times to hear this again and again.

Great stuff you have here.

Percussion my only weakness

Your a bad person, you, you...
I just had to review, I luv percussive instruments.

This fits in more for ambient piece, as it doesn't stand out that much.

I like it.
